Update: 2017-08-18     Source: lifeofguangzhou.com

A total of 529 metered parking spots located along 20 road sections in Guangzhou will be removed one after another, according to officials of the Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Transport. Authorities warn that car owners should check for parking signs to assure they park legally.

The city's transport and road management authorities decided to eliminate these parking spaces because they have held up traffic to some degree.

All metered parking spots on 18 road sections will be rescinded, including Guangli Lu, Xincheng Nanlu, Haixin Jie, Shipai Xilu, Huayue Jie, Liuyun Wusi Jie, Haiye Lu, Xingmin Lu, Shipai Donglu, Huaqiang Lu, Huating Lu, Zijing Lu and the road in front of the East Gate of TeeMall in Tianhe district; Yuanjing Lu, Tang’an Lu and Xinyi Lu in Baiyun district; Gangwan Lu in Huangpu district; and Shibafu Lu in Liwan district. Also, three parking spaces on Yongsheng Shangsha Lu in Yuexiu district and eight on Linhe Donglu in Tianhe district will be revoked.

How can you tell if a metered parking spot has been eliminated? You should observe two things.

1. The parking meter P sign. Usually, a P sign will be set up on the road sections where metered parking spaces are still in use.

2. Metered parking space line. If the parking space line has been eradicated, then car owners are not allowed to park their cars in the spots.
