Tips for travel during Labor Day holiday
Update: 2019-04-22     Source: SilkRoadPost
This year, for the first time, we are going to greet a four-day holiday for Labor Day (May 1 to May 4). Whether you choose to take a trip or visit your friends during the holiday, the following policies and tips may be of help for your travel.

Floating ticket prices to be implemented on certain train routes

To further meet the travel needs of different passengers, the Ministry of Railway announced that starting April 19, the price of tickets will float on some bullet train routes, with the highest discount set at 35 percent off.

To take the Jiangmen-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway as an example, passengers of trains D7451, D7453, D7488, D7492, D7496 and D7548 will enjoy a 35 percent discount from Mondays to Thursdays between April 19 and 29. And from April 30 to May 2, a 35-percent-off and a 25-percent-off is offered for train D7452 and train D7458 respectively.

Rates charged for the cancellation of discount air tickets will be put on graded scale

The Civil Aviation Administration of China urged airliners and online travel agencies last July to address the issue of their exorbitant cancellation fees for discount air tickets, calling for the introduction of graded rates.

Up to now, twenty-three airlines have graded the rates they charge when discount tickets are cancelled. The sooner ticket holders change and cancel their tickets, the less handling fees they will be charged. And the higher the level of their seats, the more refund they can get.
