On 9 a.m. of August 12, the unveiling ceremony of Conghua District was held, marking the formal launch of Conghua District in Guangzhou. With the policy and financial support as well as the opportunity of internationalization, Conghua will have a valuable development opportunity.
Locates in northeast of Guangzhou, Conghua has its resource advantage on 68.3% of forest coverage (covering a half of forest area in Guangzhou). And the air quality meet standard every day. By the ecological advantages, Conghua gives priority for the development of agriculture and ecological tourism, while its economic growth and industrial development are under restrictions.
“After the establishment of Conghua District, Guangzhou is certain to increase government support for that district, especially for promoting the equalization of basic public services,” said Yuan Jingxia, the director of Guangzhou Finance Department.
Besides, the metro line 14 is to connect Conghua District with downtown Guangzhou, by which people from Conghua can arrive the central area of Tianhe District in an hour. It is said that the line 14 is under construction with 758 million RMB of investment and might start operation by the end of 2016. Moreover, 6 highways and 17 tourism lines will improve its transportation link to downtown Guangzhou in future.
Conghua was a country-level city of Guangzhou before, covering an area of 1985.26 square kilometers, borders on Zengcheng District, Baiyun District on the south and Huadu District on the west.
It is called as “litchi kingdom” with more than 26 varieties of litchi growing there. Besides, it is a famous for the hot spring since the geothermal resources is very abundant. Hence, Conghua is also an ideal destination for tourism.
