In the Expo's main venue Guangzhou Children's Park, "fairy tale like" landscapes themed on The Wizard of Oz are being displayed, including mosaicultures, sea of flowers, art nursery gardens and all kinds of cartoon dolls.
While in Liuhua Lake Park, flower installations are set up themed on Lingnan culture. The park is filled with large-scale mosaicultures, flower bouquets, bonsais and rare stones, presenting a visual feast for tourists.
According to statistics from the Administration of Forestry and Gardening of Guangzhou Municipality (AFGGM), over 3 million people visited the Spring Festival flower fairs, parks, scenic spots and forest parks affiliated to AFGGM in Guangzhou from Jan. 27 to Feb. 6. Among them, 483,247 tourists paid a visit to the Guangzhou Children's Park during that period, which is the most for one single destination.
Besides, Baiyun Mountain Scenic Spot, Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou Zoo and Liuxihe National Forest Park also present colorful activities and beautiful sceneries of flowers for the celebration of Spring Festival and received huge passenger flow during the holiday.
Guangzhou, the City of Flower, has become a popular destination for tourists to enjoy Spring Festival celebrations. Ms. Liu from Jiangxi Province told the reporter that she came to Guangzhou with her family just to visit flower fairs, parks and they had a great time. Liu said, "Guangzhou's parks enjoy the best environment in China. The scenery is great, the facilities are complete, and the transportation is convenient. We are very pleased."
