Recently, Tourism Administration of Guangzhou Municipality released that Guangzhou received more than 13 million visitors during Spring Festival golden week. According to the questionnaire survey by Guangzhou’s tourism departments, 99.3% tourists are satisfied with their tourism experience in Guangzhou, which is a record high degree of satisfaction for Guangzhou tourism.
During the Spring Festival holiday of the Year of Rooster, 32 major scenic spots in Guangzhou (not including commercial pedestrian streets and city parks) received 2,815,100 visitors and generated a revenue of 259 million RMB, with a year-on-year growth of 16.56%.
Canton Tower and Cantonese Cuisine have become two major "tourism cards" of Guangzhou. According to the survey of "most interested items" (multiple choice), Cantonese Cuisine is the most popular among tourists in Guangzhou, accounting for 69.1%, followed by shopping (44.0%), folk customs (40.1%), history & culture (29.0%), cityscape (26.4%) and landscape (23.0%).
