Guangzhou offers warm shelters to residents battling the cold
Update: 2018-01-10     Source: newsgd.com

Winter has well and truly fallen upon Guangzhou with the city issuing an orange cold weather warning alert yesterday. In response to the freezing temperatures, and to assist vulnerable residents of Guangzhou, 1,000 shelters have been opened across the city.

Of the 1,000 shelters that have been opened, 37 can accommodate overnight stays and will be open 24 hours per day. The shelters will offer basic necessities to those in need, such as warm clothes, heaters and hot meals.

If you come across homeless people in the city who you believe would benefit from the cold weather shelters, you can call 114 to contact a response team who will be dispatched to guide those in need to the nearest shelters.
