Global Intelligent Industry Conference kicks off in Guangzhou

The 3rd Global Intelligent Industry Conference & Exposition 2019 as well as the Global Innovative Technology Exchange Conference was held in Guangzhou from November 23rd to 25th.

Organized by Chinese Society for Optical Engineering, the conference attracted more than 1000 experts, scholars and enterprise representatives from home and abroad. With the focus on intelligence, it shed light into the inter-disciplinary research, application models and ethics based on the application of AI to the industry.

Lv Yueguang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, said in his opening address that the application of intelligent technologies is key to further the development of manufacturing industry. It’s a trend as well as the core of a new round of technological and industrial revolution.

“As the intelligent industry develops, there will be new technologies, new products and new industries, which will upgrade such fields as industry, agriculture, medical health, transportation and finance,” he said.

Steve Chen, Member of National Academy of Engineering, gave a speech on ‘Integrated AI and supercomputing to lead the development of intelligent medical and education applications’. He said with the application of AI in various fields, especially in medical health, it will be possible to solve a serious of illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and depression with AI applications.

According to the organizer, this year’s forum included 4 forums respectively with the theme of the new generation of AI, intelligent manufacturing, drone application and intelligent sensor technology. It also set up a series of international partnering sections and global innovative technology exchange meetings& expo.

80 oversea guests from countries such as UK, Germany, France, Australia and Russia attended at the conference, and more than 200 technological projects were presented here for partnership.

The conference also had a special forum on the smart industry of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area which discussed the strengths of developing AI industry in the Area from the perspective of infrastructure, technology and application, aiming to facilitate the construction of the Area as an international technology and innovation center.
