A total of 20 families from home and abroad were luckily chosen to savor the most authentic Cantonese-style Spring Festival in Guangzhou for free, they will be in the capable hands of 20 local families.
The application spanned from Dec. 15, 2016 to Jan. 5, 2017, with 5,001 families (groups) from around the world handed in applications.
"(I'm) so happy. I'm looking forward to it!" said Feng Ganhua, an American Chinese. Mr. Feng told the reporter that this is the first time that he is spending Spring Festival back in Guangzhou after he migrated to the United States. His excitement and expectation were really beyond words.
Schedule of this campaign has also been settled. During the four-day tour, the guests are expected to arrive in Guangzhou on Jan. 26, when they will meet the local families on the welcoming party, enjoy a trip of Pearl River night cruise and scene along the banks, and go to the Huacheng Square Lights Concert.
On Jan. 27 (Lunar New Year's Eve), the guests will visit traditional flower fair in Liwan, taste Cantonese dim sum, and visit Chen Clan Academy. In the evening, the guests will join local families in a Cantonese-style dinner on the Lunar New Year's Eve.
On the first and second days of the Lunar New Year, the local families and the guests will have chances to enjoy traditional folk performances, such as lion dance and dragon dance, visit the Chimelong Safari Park and have a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of Guangzhou from the Canton Tower.
